OK, here's a possible method to control for this
bubble problem. As we can't really get rid of the
hot air, how about sealing both the control and
active flask? Now if you match the temperature profiles,
you'll have pretty much elimated all possible artifact.

Certainly feasible, but not sure to what extent if any
it is present in the experiments I've been doing so
far...
Particularly for the hypo-P, the crystallization
starts at the seed on the bottom of the flask and
spreads out like a fast growing sea urchin. I have
also not seen any crystal growth vector break the
surface of the solution yet, nor have I seen anything
like bubbles or swiss cheese air pockets. The only
thing trapped would be liquid phase.
So thus far, I would say thats a very minor if not
negligible factor... but a good one to keep a peeper
out for.
