[NewCandle] Graneau

Hi Jones,
No, not offhand. I think it would be very easy to replicate
the experiment as described, but I'm not sure that would be the best thing
given that they didn't measure the kinetic energy
in any direct way. To get the ball farther down the field
one would want to make that measurement directly. That
would require some creative work.
I sort of agree with Graneaus negative hypothesis about thunder;
I have experimentally observed that currents on the
order graneau mentions can be passed silently though
a water arc. The same currents can be passed with the
terrific explosion Graneau observes. This work I did
in '92 after reading Graneau & Graneau's book on
electrodynamics. Channel heating is not the sole reason
for the explosion, as he points out.

Hey Guys ---
Anyone know of a replication of the Graneau/Hull/Hathaway water arc
discharge?
... or even a failed replication, etc.
....possible chance of getting a replication attempt funded
Jones
