[NewCandle] Another observation for Fred.

Hi Horace.
Yep, I know that they are, Horace, thanks.
What I'm asking Fred is why it is that when the pan
is grounded, I see no force at all. And if you
are tempted to reply, "because this grounds the induced
charges" rest assured I know of that as well (grin).
To put it more plainly. I have a negatively charged
earth. I ground my pan to it. I have a teflon plate
and I charge it negative. Why does it not repel the pan?
This subject sort of bleeds over into your vortex arguments
with Michel about absolute/relative potential. We have
a negatively charged earth. I want to measure a repulsion
to a negatively charged object. Just what does it take?
Bear in mind, most lifter stuff I have seen works on
ion flow, rather than pure electrostatic lift. As crazy as
it sounds, we're talking about the latter. In a sense,
what we're trying to do is measure the absolute potential
of the earth. And field mills would be cheating ( but worth
discussing all the same ).
K.

Induced charges are attractive, not repulsive.
