This may be an even dumber answer but Co is half again more conductive 
so it should plate out preferentially, no?

It is also denser.

Lately I have been 'into' trying to combine two or more physical 
property differences in order to more efficiently separate miscible 
components, so that is my mindset for this suggestion.

...ergo - a spinning plating cell??
