Yes, it might indeed plate out preferentially. The thought
crossed my mind as well. But I was sort of hoping for a
quick chemical manipulation, not so industrial a solution.
This is a bit of a lark on my part.
BTW, the actual stuff is a mix of hydroxides/oxides and (presumably)
metal pwd, as I can take a magnet and play with it like
a ferrofluid. It's the result of taking filings of
the raw material, dissolving them in HCl, then
neutralizing with NaOH and diluting.
Sort of fun to play with, extremely sensitive to magnetic fields.

This may be an even dumber answer but Co is half again more conductive
so it should plate out preferentially, no?
It is also denser.
Lately I have been 'into' trying to combine two or more physical
property differences in order to more efficiently separate miscible
components, so that is my mindset for this suggestion.
...ergo - a spinning plating cell??
