Why not? For instance, in the previous situation, when you had the two 
tanks and spectrometer for comparison, you could have ('fonly, as they 
say) compared the normal flame spectrum, against the flame (using the 
identical gas-flow of H2) which was the result of a magnetized capillary 
nozzle, fitted to the H2 tank.

If there was significant acceleration due to the 'ordering effect' of 
the field on the gas flow, then the spectrum should be shifted more to 
the UV than before, correct?
