I haven't really been following this, but as I understand it Sam is using common
table salt for his electrolyte? If so, then he can probably expect to lose some
Cl2 & or HCl directly to the air, leaving an alkaline solution. When it gets
strong enough it will dissolve the Al directly producing heaps of H2.
