As you may have guessed - I am of the belief that the
LED is an active part of this circuit and not a 'load'
per se. It may work together with the core, but the
core may not be the only 'active' part.

Ron is now driving 12 TWELVE of them and thinks more
are possible as the circuit gets more robust with more
of them added (and no signal necessary after startup)
the circuit seems to 'beg' for them !!

There is NO measurable power in the circuit - only
voltage, and consequently it is IMPOSSIBLE to replace
the LEDs with any meaningful load. Go figure.

I wonder if the light form the LEDs will power a
photocell???

An associate received 100 of the loopsticks from eBay
yesterday. (~470 mH) That should be interesting. Only
trouble is, he is going for some weird kind of
alternative circuit instead of driving LEDs which I
now believe to be key.
