I think the Joule Thief represents the low end
of the scale of what is possible. The core material
for example isn't specified, and could probably
be improved on greatly. As with the oscillator design.
The 1K resistor would be a good place to start.

The only answer to the last question is to go
to Ron's house and measure it.

OK how about this - anyone who is definitely going to
build the circuit, contact me first for the address
and I will clear it with Ron. He just does not want
the hassle of another attack.

BTW the "joule thief" thing is a great find, but if it
represents the limits of how far you can take
resonant-rise, then you still need .3 v or so of
potential from somewhere, correct? Can you get that
from ground on a consistent basis?
