[NewCandle] Nick's voices in the head

Bummer, Here I was having visions of convincing my
landlord that the Lord of the Land was instructing him
to cut my rent via the voice in his head... are you
_sure_ we can't massage this thing a little? Some
AM modulator on that horn and we can achieve the Godhead!

I'm guessing that it works by resonating some bone in
the inner ear or thereabouts, and given the high frequency
there is some nonlinear process that is transforming
the signal to the 2 KHz.

I think it would be worth trying again, but with more power.
How much audio power do you think you were generating?

Sorry to say, the transducer needed to make physical
contact with the skin, preferably over a meaty part of
the body (ergo I don't know as it was bone conduction)
 Slipping even a piece of paper between skin and pzt
killed the effect, which hinted to me that the
transduction was electrical, but then I found slipping
a piece of foil between the two surfaces killed the
effect also!  So it must have been acoustic in some
weird way.

It surprised me also that both Alan and I heard
apparently the same pitched tone, for as different as
we are physically.  He was taller than me, and leaner,
I was shorter and heavier.  I figured body mass,
density, volume would have altered it somewhat.  I
confirmed that we were hearing about the same tone by
matching up  - and having him also match up - with a
tone from a second signal generator.  It was somewhere
around 2 khz.
