[NewCandle] Nick's voices in the head

Hi Nick,
I have a metal puck about the diameter of a quarter and 1/2 inch
thick. It's some kind of piezo, and I think the puck part is an acoustic
resonator? Anyway, I just measured its impedence, and there
is a nice resonance at 44.5Khz. Quite sharp, as you know.
I cranked up my FG, 22 volts peak to peak, but no voices
in the ole noggin just yet ( outside of the usual greek chorus ).
I passed it close to my ear, and then pressed it on various
spots on the bean, but just crickets... It seemed to give me a bit
of a headache though.
Now if I remember correctly, this little puck came with a drive
circuit that had a nice step-up transformer. So perhaps I need
more power to hear the effect? I wonder what I did with the driver board?
K.

I'll have to hunt for a pzt, I MAY have one left in a
junkbox somewhere.
I would say probably the most power I ever put into
one was whatever my signal generators of the time
would put out, which was likely 10 or 12 watts.
Oh, the merrie tricksterism I had thought of as well,
if only one could make that non-local...
